Container gardening has become increasingly popular. Choosing the correct container for your plants is very important. Many plants do well in clay pots, while others do not. Clay pots are excellent for plants that need to stay on the dry side. For example, cactus and succulents are perfectly suited for clay pots. However, plants such as Australian Palms that need an abundance of water are not well suited for clay.
Gardeners with limited space use containers for growing vegetables and herbs. The large containers pictured above are excellent for many herbs and Patio tomatoes as well as annuals. The picture to the right is an example of a "raised garden bed" to show how herbs and vegetables can be grown. |
