Phlox
Subulata
The Creeping Phlox (Phlox Subulata) is a colorful perennial ground cover that appears in the spring. It is also known as Moss Phlox or Moss Pinks. It is dwarf and spreading in nature with small moss like leaves. It forms dense mats 12 inches or more in diameter which flower freely as it grows. It is an excellent choice for rock gardens and can be planted in dry areas because of its drought resistance.
Creeping Phlox is also used as an edgining for borders, on terraces, and between stepping stones. It does well in most any type soil. Creeping Phlox comes in shades of purple, shades of pink, and white. Plant Creeping Phlox 12 inches apart in full sun or partial shade.
